Julia Janus SOLARIS collection – more than a single form of freedom
Julia Janus presents her 2018 spring–summer collection of clothing and accessories called Soliaris, inspired by a fantasy novel under the same title written by Stanislaw Lem and screened by cinematic genius Andrei Tarkovsky. The brand’s seventeenth collection reminds the importance of love for yourself since this is something giving us an opportunity to feel, be and look like the way we want. The oceanic motifs from the film are turned into Julia’s fabric prints which are complemented by impressive dark pieces of bark and flourishing flora. One of the most important print of tree leaf veins symbolizes that all humans are unique creations of nature and cannot be compared to one another. The slogan of collection “We don’t need other worlds, we only need a mirror” can be noticed in the patterns and embroideries of the garments as well.
Women collection is elegant yet comfortable, created in a way that every piece of clothing which is worn as casual or formal outfit, could be turned into occasional one – together matching the accesories. Nature is the source of colors in Soliaris collection. The fabrics of natural linen, silk, cotton and innovative neoprene – wax denim – provides the feeling of freedom and lightness. The designer combines the fabrics in a special way, obtaining new functionality and look for the clothes.
The Julia Janus man is a modern nomad, who matches fashion and comfort roaming through a sophisticated city. The construction of clothes and their functional fabrics such as linen, elastic cotton and denim gives a feeling of freedom, as well, they adapt to different shapes of the body and keeps the idea of avant-garde style.
